Privacy statement

I care about your privacy. I don’t like Big Corporations spying on me, and I can only assume you don’t like it either.

Still, if you visit my site, some information might be gathered and used. Let me explain what this information is and how it is used.

Summary

Benign cookies are used for counting visitors. If you give me your email address, I will only use it to communicate with you. If you make a donation, a record of it is kept at PayPal and Ko-Fi.

In detail

Templatemaker is sponsored exclusively by SignCutPro.com. No cookies are used to display their advertisements.

I use Matomo to track how many users visit my site and where they are from. Matomo might set cookies to check if a user has visited before. It only stores part of your IP address, so your full IP address is not saved.

My templates are often featured on Pinterest. To encourage that, I added Pinterest buttons throughout the site. From the Personalization and data page on Pinterest:

If you go to a site that has the Save button or a Pinterest widget, Pinterest can use info about that visit to personalize your experience back on Pinterest, to measure ad effectiveness, and for other purposes described in our cookie policy.

Visit their Privacy Policy to learn more.

The other social media links don’t set any cookies. They are just plain links without JavaScript. That being said, I (of course) have no control over what these platforms do once you click a link and land on their site.

Typefaces are self-hosted. This means the fonts used on this site are stored and loaded directly from my server instead of being fetched from third-party providers like Google Fonts. This protects your privacy because no external company can track your visits through font requests.

Donations are handled by Ko-Fi and PayPal. If you give me a “coffee” (thanks!), I receive an email with your name and email address, provided by PayPal. I do not use this information and delete the email straight away. You can choose to leave a message together with the donation (I love to read those!). In that case, your message and the name you provided will be shown on the Ko-Fi site. PayPal will keep a record of the transaction, which I can access but will not use. Please refer to their respective privacy policies:

Some translators send me their email address with the translation. The address is only stored in my email client as part of the message containing the translation. I will use this address to communicate with you about the translation, for example to say “thanks!”. When you write the translation, your work is stored on your own computer as a special kind of cookie called ‘Local Storage’. Only the translation is stored — no personal information is stored.

If you contact me through my site, you can choose to leave your email address. This address is stored in my email client and I use it to reply to you. Of course, if you include other personal information in the message, that will be stored in my email client as well.
